Caebardd Farm, Mid Wales

A real working farm and the home of this method. Two days across the fields, the yard, and the woods. You arrive from the bottom of the site and park up, then it all opens out in front of you.

The agenda

Two days, two halves

Two days split down the middle: day one is biochar, day two is hemp. Same rhythm both days: doors at 09:00, talks from 10:00, then a live swathing demo after lunch and the full farm walk to see how biochar has transformed Caebardd Farm.

Day One Wednesday 19 August Biochar
  • 09:00

    Doors open

    Arrive, park up and network as the site opens for the day.

  • 10:00

    Talks begin

    The biochar programme runs through the morning with networking breaks. Speakers and talks to be confirmed.

  • 12:30

    Lunch

    Break and networking before heading out onto the land.

  • 13:00

    Live swathing demo Live

    A live hemp swathing demonstration in the field, running until 14:00.

  • 14:00

    Full farm walk

    Out onto the land until 16:00: soil, hemp, trees, the water filter, the cows and much more. See how biochar has transformed Caebardd Farm.

  • 16:00

    Talks and closing summary

    Additional talks from 16:00 to 17:30 to round off the day, finishing with a closing summary. Line up to be confirmed.

  • Evening

    Informal social

    Food, fire and proper conversation with the people doing the work. Camping included, so make a night of it.

    Break and networking before the afternoon on the land.

    The second live swathing demonstration, running until 14:00.

    Full farm walk

    The full farm walk again until 16:00, out across the fields, trees, water filter and herd.

    Hemp panel and closing summary

    From 16:00 to 17:30, the closing hemp panel talks under the oak tree, alongside the water filter talk, finishing with the closing summary.
